The Greater Boston Mass Spectrometry Discussion Group is pleased to announce the 10th annual

Student Travel Award, now to ANY national conference in 2018!

Two awards of $1,250 each are to be named. Winners will be notified on January 30, 2018, which is in time to decide whether to apply to ASMS, the ACS Fall meeting, Asilomar, or HPLC2018, or to register for PittCon 2018, or the ACS Spring meeting, as examples.

Eligibility
Applicants must be registered graduate students at a university/college in the greater Boston area, and current members of GBMSDG. The student’s thesis research advisor must also be a member of the GBMSDG (please register at www.gbmsdg.org).

Applications
Students should send by email:

  1. A copy of the conference abstract on the research they will present (may require advance thought!)
  2. A curriculum vitae
  3. A brief cover letter discussing how attendance will impact career plans or related considerations
  4. A letter of recommendation must be sent separately by the student's thesis advisor

All materials should be sent to the attention of
Dr. Scott Shaffer, of the GBMSDG executive board at: awards@gbmsdg.org.

The deadline for the receipt of all materials is 5:00 PM EST Friday December 1, 2017.

The application reviews and awards selection will be undertaken by an independent awards review committee, separate from the GBMSDG executive board. These applications are also used to select the student speakers at GBMSDG monthly meetings.
